Sylvia is living the life she wants, pretty much. She owns a successful LA coffee bar. If she could just shake her idiot boyfriend off the bottom of her shoe and the idiot brother of the eternal bad luck she’d be doing fine.
Out of nowhere comes Kurt, good looking, money, living the dream on his huge boy-toy boat in Marina Del Rey. Things pick up fast, too fast but Sylvia is tired of waiting around for Mr. Right. Kurt will do, and then some.
But it’s not all storybook romance. Kurt has this ‘friend’, Robin. They go way back and have a shared past that few ever live and no one forgets. They have a curious bond that is stronger than the ordinary love most people share. Something to do with dying.
Robin treats Sylvia like she’s a civilian lost in a war zone, someone getting in the way of the bigger business at hand. Sylvia begins to feel like a fashionable accessory that doesn’t fit quite right. Soon enough she finds out just how big this business really is.
