September 18, 2018, a top down, 72 and sunny day, Candice was behind the wheel of her salvage title 2001 Miata listening to Motorhead’s ‘Ace of Spades’ on the radio. She was on Paseo Del Mar headed to meet a friend at a taco truck in San Pedro. The single witness said she swerved to avoid a porcupine and lost control of the car.<\/p>\n

Words cannot express my sorrow and the world of fiction has yet to fully realise what a loss we all have suffered. The void left by her powerful voice is great. But she lives on in her work and mine as well. She was an inspiration to all who walked with her in life.<\/p>\n

The bike rider who narrowly avoided the accident said Candice’s last words were ‘The End.’<\/p>\n

The body has not yet been recovered, we can only assume it was lost to the sea. The only witness, the man on the bike, vanished shortly after being interviewed by the police. All attempts to contact him have failed.<\/p>\n
